VIRTUAL WEEKLY
SCHEDULE
AZC has transitioned to a virtual schedule of events due to the Coronavirus and is strictly maintaining guidelines established by the New Mexico Department of Health. We realize how important it is for all of us, especially now during these difficult times, to maintain a daily zazen routine. Zazen is offered morning and evening, Monday through Thursday; once a day in the morning Friday and Saturday. The regular Thursday evening book discussion is also ongoing. To practice at home, you need only a small quiet space, free of distractions, and your cushion—this space is your Zendo. As Seiju reminds us: “Start with the body. Sit like a mountain. Relax into Hara. Breathe like a baby.” Another opportunity for sangha members to stay connected is the Wednesday morning virtual chat. Join John and other sangha folks for casual conversation following morning practice. The AZC Library is physically open Monday and Friday mornings 8:00 am – 9:00 am or by appointment with John A. Craig. And recently, the Center has opened for Sunday Silent Practice, a chance for up to10 people to sit on the grounds or in the Zendo for a few hours once a week. There is no formal zazen, but is a time for unstructured, silent practice. Your patience is appreciated as we continue to monitor NM guidelines and until AZC can fully reopen. We are concerned for everyone’s health and well-being especially since many sangha members are older and AZC is Seiju’s residence. We will keep everyone apprised of updates and any changes as they occur. Gasshō
