COVID-19 Response
After discussion with AZC Board members and Seiju, we have decided that Saturday, March 14th will be the last day for regular practice at AZC. The Center will close for two weeks or until further notice, following 9:30 am mid-morning practice.
On Saturday, we will forgo bagels and coffee and Beginner’s Instruction is cancelled. Our concern is the health and well-being of our Sangha and all visitors. This comes following the announcement by Gov. Lujan Grisham who “…declared a public health emergency Wednesday as the first cases of COVID-19 surfaced in New Mexico. To slow transmission of the virus, the governor urged people to avoid public gatherings…, and minimize contact with other individuals, even if it means staying home from church or going out less often.” We will investigate technologies to be able to offer some kind of virtual zazen as soon as possible. We are monitoring the situation and will keep everyone informed as the situation progresses and we have current, credible information. Stay tuned and check the website for more updates.
