Samu

Samu, work practice, is an integral part of the daily schedule at the Zen center. During samu students perform necessary tasks, like cleaning or tending to the gardens, with complete attention, giving themselves completely to the work at hand. In this way we bring our practice out of the zendo and into everyday life.

The Zen center has scheduled samu each Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., when members clean the zendo and common areas and do yard work around the property.

Members can also provide valuable help to AZC by performing one of a variety of necessary tasks during the week.
